As partners with parents in Catholic education and open to God’s presence, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School pursues fullness of life for all its students and the school community.

Together in God’s love, St Joseph’s will empower students to encounter the future with respect, courage and kindness, enriched by life-giving relationships and inspired to bring the Gospel to life.

The school ensures the care, safety, well-being and protection of its students in keeping with the Catholic tradition, which honours the sacred dignity of each person through policy and processes.

From 1 July 2022, 11 new Child Safe Standards (CSS) replaced Victoria’s seven previous CSS and principles. The new CSS are underpinned by Ministerial Order No. 1359: Implementing the Child Safe Standards – Managing the risk of child abuse in schools and school boarding premises (MO 1359), which was released by the Victorian Government on 10 February 2022. MO 1359 defines the actions schools and school boarding premises must take to meet the requirements associated with the new CSS from 1 July 2022 (CEVN, Child Safety. 2022).

At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School we hold the care, safety and well-being of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school.
